Profile & Story
Alpha Estate is a privately-owned estate on the Amyndeon plateau in northwestern Macedonia, Greece, farmed by vine grower Makis Mavridis and winemaker Angelos Iatridis. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc comes from vineyards at 620-710 meters altitude, given several hours of skin contact before controlled fermentation in temperature-jacketed stainless steel and four months of aging on the lees with regular stirring.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant light yellow with greenish tints, the wine has a strong, lively nose of gooseberry, passion fruit, melon and lychee with a note of honeysuckle, and is round and mellow on the palate with plenty of finesse.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs perfectly with a wide range of seafood dishes, grilled fish, Eastern cuisine and pasta.
