Anselmo Mendes is one of Vinho Verde's most influential producers, credited with elevating Alvarinho into a serious varietal wine, farming hillside vineyards with granite soils in the Monção e Melgaço sub-region. Muros Antigos Alvarinho 2023 is 100% Alvarinho, hand-harvested, destemmed and whole-cluster pressed, cold-clarified, then fermented in stainless steel and aged a minimum of three months on fine lees with periodic batonnage.
Tasting Notes
The wine offers pronounced citric aromas of lemon and grapefruit with a mineral edge, framed by fine acidity and freshness on the palate, finishing long and pronounced.
