Arianna Occhipinti farms 25 biodynamic and organically certified hectares around Vittoria in southeastern Sicily. Il Frappato comes from Frappato vines planted in 1980 on red sand and chalk soils over sub-Apennine limestone. The grapes are hand-picked in small crates, then fermented spontaneously with native yeasts in cement tanks, macerated on the skins for 30 days, and aged in Slavonian oak barrels plus time in bottle. The wine is bottled unfiltered.
