Profile & Story
Kir-Yianni was founded in 1997 by Yiannis Boutaris on the slopes of Mount Vermio in Naoussa, northwestern Greece. Ramnista was the estate's first wine and remains its flagship, sold in 35 countries. This bottling is 100% Xinomavro from select old-vine blocks on southeast-facing slopes, aged in French oak foudres with a small portion of American oak.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows medium-plus intensity with ripe berry and strawberry-tart notes, along with tart unripe plum and minty apple. Aromatically it is fragrant with red fruit, strawberry, cherry and raspberry, layered with rose petal, vanilla and sweet spice, aromatic herbs and tea leaf.
