About the Wine

This Chianti Classico DOCG is made from 100% Sangiovese grapes grown in Castelnuovo Berardenga, on the southern edge of the Chianti Classico zone. Vines are densely planted and trained using bilateral cordon and simple Guyot systems, with staggered harvesting over three weeks in October to account for vineyard altitude. The vineyards were replanted between 1990 and the early 2000s after careful clonal selection. After harvest, selected clusters are destemmed and pressed, with fermentation and maceration in stainless steel for 12–15 days at 28–30°C, supported by punchdowns and daily pumpovers. In early spring, the wine is transferred to medium-sized Slavonian oak barrels and a smaller portion to used oak. After 12 months of aging, the final blend is bottled and rests in glass for at least three months.
