Profile & Story
Domaine Giacometti is a family estate in Casta, in Corsica's remote Agriates desert north of Patrimonio. Christian Giacometti re-established the modern estate in 1987 on vines dating to 1966, and the 32-hectare property, organic AB-certified since 2017, is now run by his children Sarah and Simon. Their Patrimonio rose, labeled Cru des Agriate through the 2023 vintage and renamed Cuvee de l'Agriate from the 2024 vintage forward, is an 83% Niellucciu and 17% Grenache blend, direct-pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel with about six months on fine lees, finishing around 11.5% ABV. It is imported to the US exclusively by Kermit Lynch Wine Merchant.
Tasting Notes
A pomegranate-tinged rose described as remarkably fresh, pure, and focused, with a filtered-through-granite minerality, bright red fruit and Corsican herb notes, smooth and well-balanced, elegant and easy-drinking with a hint of vine peach.
Pairing Recommendation
Suited equally to aperitifs or an al fresco summer meal.
