Tenuta Santa Maria, owned by Giovanni and Guglielmo Bertani, lies at Arbizzano di Negrar in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. This Ripasso continues the family’s Ripasso tradition (used since the 1850s), with a second maceration over Amarone grape skins followed by about two years in large oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
Nose of intense cherry and blueberry with liquorice and lingering cinnamon and pepper. The palate is soft and warm with velvety structured tannins and balanced acidity, closing on a long, fruity finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs with game starters, intense meat sauces, savoury quiches, spinach and chard, and red meat. Serve at 16–18°C.
