Mamete Prevostini is a family winery in Mese, in Italy’s alpine Valtellina (Lombardy), known for silky, elegant Nebbiolo. Its Valtellina Superiore Sassella “Marena” takes its name from the local black cherry (marena) that its persistent fruit evokes; a full-bodied 100% Nebbiolo from terraced Sassella vineyards at 350–550 m, with about 13 days’ maceration, 12 months in oak and 8 months in bottle.
