Profile & Story
Domaine Hubert Brochard has cultivated the Sancerre appellation in Chavignol, in France's Loire Valley, since 1900. The family believes there is not one Sancerre but many, and their winemaking is built around revealing the character of the appellation's diverse terroirs — including such named plots as Côte des Monts Damnés and Cul de Beaujeu — through careful, terroir-focused vinification. This Sancerre Blanc is a blend of several Sauvignon Blanc parcels selected from three of Sancerre's primary terroirs. The grapes are gravity-pressed without destemming to preserve their delicate character, and the wine is aged on its lees for four months across a mix of vessels — stainless steel vats, barrels, amphorae and concrete — chosen to express each terroir's typicity.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows a luminous, bright color and offers a delightful mix of floral and fruity aromas on the nose. On the palate it is generous and fruity, with richness and liveliness that caress the palate, capturing the complexity of the Sancerre appellation.
