Vincent Paris is a grower based in Cornas, in France's Rhône Valley, who made his first vintage in 1997, initially vinifying alongside his uncle Robert Michel, a well-known Cornas producer, before establishing his own independent cellar. Most of his vineyards were inherited from his grandfather, including vines up to ninety years old, with further parcels acquired from his uncle, among them the prized Geynale site within the Cornas amphitheater. He farms with a strong environmental ethic, believing the forests around the appellation should remain wild, and prunes to just four bunches per vine — well below the regional norm of five to seven — to concentrate flavor across his eight hectares, which yield roughly 2,500 cases a year. Alongside his Cornas and Saint-Joseph, Vincent Paris also produces this Crozes-Hermitage under his Sélection range, sourced from vineyards within the Crozes-Hermitage appellation and made from Syrah, the appellation's principal red grape.
