Domaine Serge Dagueneau & Filles is a family estate based in Saint-Andelain, in the Pouilly-Fumé appellation of the eastern Loire Valley. Pouilly-Fumé is planted almost exclusively to Sauvignon Blanc, grown on Kimmeridgian marl and flint soils that give the wines their characteristic smoky, flinty edge alongside citrus fruit. Les Pentes comes from a parcel of vines around 55 years old planted on Kimmeridgian marl, and is entirely hand-harvested.

Sauvignon Blancs from Pouilly-Fumé's Kimmeridgian soils typically show citrus and white-flower aromatics over a flinty, smoky minerality, with crisp, refreshing acidity.
