Testalonga is the natural-wine project of Craig Hawkins and Carla Kretschmer in the Swartland, one of South Africa's leading regions for old-vine, minimal-intervention winemaking. 'Keep on Punching' Chenin Blanc comes from a bush-vine vineyard planted in 1961 on sandstone soils in the foothills of the Piketberg Mountain. The grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented naturally, taken through full malolactic fermentation, and aged primarily in old foudre on the fine lees, with a smaller portion matured in stainless steel to preserve freshness.
