Famille Melinon (Domaine Melinon) is an eighth-generation Beaujolais family estate based in Villie-Morgon, with roots to 1737; today it is run by winemaker Gaetan Melinon alongside his mother Odile and sister Marine. The domaine farms roughly 16-18 hectares across seven Beaujolais appellations -- Morgon, Chiroubles, Regnie, Moulin-a-Vent, Chenas, Julienas and Beaujolais-Villages -- practicing sustainable viticulture with some parcels transitioning to organic, using indigenous yeasts and aging in concrete tank or oak. This 'Tirage Precoce' bottling is an early-release, 100% Gamay Beaujolais-Villages meant to be enjoyed young.
Tasting Notes
Bright and light on the nose with fruit and a touch of sophistication; the palate offers juicy red berries and a satisfyingly dry finish, in the fresh, early-drinking style of a tirage precoce.
