Profile & Story

Fento was founded in 2012 by winemaker Eulogio Pomares (also of Bodegas Zarate) and Rebeca Montero, working micro-vineyards in the Condado de Tea subzone of Rias Baixas -- the region's warmest, driest zone. Fruit is 100% Albarino from 10-15 year old, dry-farmed, non-certified organic vines on mica/granite ('Xabre') soils, hand-harvested, briefly skin-soaked before pressing, and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, resting on lees for 6 months before filtering and bottling.

Tasting Notes

Succulent and aromatic, with ripe valley fruit and a luscious, leesy texture; melon, cantaloupe and white flowers on the nose lead to peach, green apple and wet stony minerality, framed by fresh acidity.
