Profile & Story

As Bravas is an homage to the female spirit. The name carries layered meanings—“the brave ones” in Galician and “the angry ones” in Portuguese. This wine honors the strength, courage, brilliance, and innate resilience of women. It also acknowledges that anger, when channeled with purpose, can break silence and drive meaningful change. As Bravas Malbec El Cepillo is one of Argentina’s most critically acclaimed wines, consistently selected as Best of the Year by Tim Atkin MW and ranked among the Top 10 Red Wines of Argentina by Descorchados. Vintage 2018 received a perfect 100-point score from Robert Parker, who called it “a contemporary classic by which to measure Argentine Malbec.”

Tasting Notes

As Bravas Malbec from El Cepillo is a bold and finely crafted expression of one of the Uco Valley’s most extreme terroirs. Grown at 1,300 meters above sea level in a remote, frost-prone desert, this wine was produced from low-yielding vines and aged for 64 months in old foudres. Fermented with a small percentage of Semillón, it delivers a unique aromatic profile of blackberries, wild herbs, laurel, rose petal, cedar, and granite. The palate is precise and tightly woven, with chalky, incisive tannins, fresh acidity, and deep layers of red and blue fruits, graphite, white pepper, and balsamic notes. Complex, elegant, and age-worthy, this is a Malbec that transcends variety to become a pure expression of place—a wine of reflection and finesse.

Pairing Recommendation
