Common Wealth Crush Co. is a custom-crush facility and winemaker incubator founded in 2022 in Waynesboro, Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, built to lower the barriers of entry for the next generation of Virginia winemakers. Joy School is made from Chardonel, a Seyval x Chardonnay hybrid and one of the few white grapes that can be farmed organically in Virginia. The wine was 10% whole-cluster fermented and spent ten months on the lees in fiberglass, with native fermentation and no fining or filtration.
