Granbazán Ámbar 2023
2023, Val do Salnés, Spain
Profile & Story
Granbazán Etiqueta Ámbar 2023 is a sur lie-aged Albariño from D.O. Rías Baixas and one of the region’s iconic classics. Grapes are sourced from the estate’s Finca Tremoedo and neighboring plots in the parish of Tremoedo. The vineyards are southeast to south facing and rooted in decomposed granite soils, promoting freshness and minerality in the wine. The grapes are manually harvested into 17 kg crates and undergo a long 12-hour skin maceration. Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for eight months on its fine lees, with bâtonnage (lees stirring) performed during the early weeks of aging. This technique enriches the wine’s texture and aromatic complexity. The finished wine has an alcohol content of 12.97%, total acidity of 7.10 g/L, and a pH of 3.48, offering structure, freshness, and elegance. Importer (Europvin USA).
