About the Wine
Granbazán Limousin 2020 is a unique, oak-aged Albariño from D.O. Rías Baixas, produced from a plot-specific selection within the Finca Tremoedo vineyard. This wine holds the distinction of being the first Albariño to be aged in French oak, showcasing a more refined and elegant side of the grape. The vineyard plots face northwest to southeast and are rooted in sandy, decomposed granite soils known locally as xabre. Grapes are hand-harvested into 17 kg crates to preserve fruit integrity. After a 14-hour skin contact period, only the free-run juice is used. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts, and the wine is aged for 6 to 8 months in used French oak barrels (225L and 600L), allowing gentle oxidative development and added complexity. 13.44% alcohol by volume, high total acidity of 8.01 g/L and a pH of 3.33, balancing richness with vibrancy. Importer (Europvin USA).
