Nora 2023
2023, Condado do Tea, Spain

About the Wine
Nora 2023 is a 100% Albariño white wine crafted by Bodegas Viña Nora in the Condado do Tea subregion of D.O. Rías Baixas. The grapes are harvested from estate-owned vineyards situated at altitudes between 50 and 100 meters above sea level. The vines are 20 to 30 years old and grow in sandy or sandy-loam soils with varying levels of pebbles, all layered over a granitic bedrock. The climate is Atlantic with continental influences, supporting gradual ripening and aromatic development. Importer (Aviva Vino), Texas distributor ( Serendipity Wine Imports). After careful selection and harvesting at optimal maturity, the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. It then matures for four months on its lees, with regular batonnage to build body and texture. A small portion—10% of the wine—is aged in second-use French oak barrels, lending additional complexity and roundness. The finished wine expresses 13% alcohol by volume, balancing freshness with richness. It also shows moderate acidity (6.98 g/L) and a touch of residual sugar (1.7 g/L), resulting in a bright, structured, and creamy profile. Importer (Aviva Vino).
