About the Wine
Pousada 2021 is a white wine made from 90% Albariño and 10% Treixadura grapes, grown on granitic sandy soils at 250 meters elevation in the Condado do Tea area of Rías Baixas. The vineyards include centenarian vines as well as others aged 25 to 50 years. These plots are farmed without herbicides or systemic treatments. The grapes were manually harvested during a cold vintage, which resulted in slow ripening and high phenolic maturity. The winemaking process involved gentle pressing, light clarification, and spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts. The wine was aged for 15 months in stainless steel tanks and 2,000-liter French oak foudres, then blended and matured an additional six months in bottle before release. It contains 13% alcohol by volume, with 7.1 g/L of total acidity, a pH of 3.3, and 1.5 g/L of residual sugar. Importer (Selection de la Viña).
