Domaine Girault
Loire Valley, France
Located in Bué, in the heart of the Sancerrois region, our Domaine is the continuation of a family business, descended from a long line of winegrowers. Located in the communes of BUE, SANCERRE, THAUVENAY and VINON, on south, south/west, west and south/east-facing slopes, our soils are clay-limestone, limestone and flint. Patrick and Adrien Girault grow the vines, make the wine and keep the tradition alive, while employing modern techniques. For the past ten years or so, our estate has been involved in "lutte raisonnée" (a sustainable approach to vine-growing) in order to protect biodiversity and the ecosystem. The aim is to limit treatments and preserve auxiliary fauna (re-establishment of hedges), in order to protect the environment as much as possible and encourage biodiversity in the vineyard. In this way, tradition embraces modernity, while continuing to satisfy lovers of great Sancerre wines.
