Profile & Story

Tenuta Tascante is Tasca d'Almerita's Etna estate (the name combines Tasca with Etna spelled backwards), farming north-slope vineyards in Contrada Sciaranuova, Piano Dario and Rampante at 600 meters on volcanic terraces planted in 2004 and 2007. Ghiaia Nera is 100% Nerello Mascalese aged in 25hl oak casks for 12 months.

Tasting Notes

Focused red-berry aromas of redcurrant and cranberry with woodsmoke and incense; a balance of Pinot-like elegance and Nebbiolo-like structure.
