Altos Ibericos was Familia Torres' first project in Rioja (launched 2005), sourced predominantly from Rioja Alavesa -- the appellation's coolest subregion -- from vines averaging 60-80 years old. The Crianza is 100% Tempranillo, aged about 12 months in used French and American oak.
Tasting Notes
Dark cherry red color; fruit notes of raspberry jam with spicy hints of green peppercorn and toasted bread; warm on the palate with velvety, juicy tannins.
Pairing Recommendation
Conceived to match avant-garde tapas, red meat, oily fish and cheese, and all kinds of cured Iberian pork.
