Profile & Story
Abadal is the historic winery of the Roqueta family in the Pla de Bages, Catalonia, with vineyards surrounding the medieval Abadal farmhouse. Alba blends the estate's signature native Picapoll with Sauvignon Blanc and Macabeu, given a brief pellicular maceration and aged on its lees in stainless steel, drawing aromatic character from the surrounding woodland undergrowth of jasmine and lavender.
Tasting Notes
Pale in color with greenish reflections. An exotic and complex nose shows floral, citrus and tropical fruit notes. The palate is extrovert and fruity, fresh, persistent and seductive, with a velvety, creamy texture from its time on the lees.
Pairing Recommendation
Recommended as an aperitif before lunch, or paired with roasted peppers on crispy toast, salted cod preparations, and custard-filled profiteroles.
