Profile & Story
Alta Pavina is a small, family-run winery in La Parrilla, in the province of Valladolid within Castilla y Leon, founded in 1985 by the Ortega brothers. The family has built its identity around a firm commitment to Pinot Noir on high-altitude vineyards near 1,000 meters close to the Duero river. Citius, the estate's flagship wine, is made from 100% Pinot Noir and is aged in French oak, followed by further aging in bottle before release.
Tasting Notes
Citius shows a deep ruby color with a bright rim. The nose is elegant and delicate, layering red and black fruit with floral and gently mentholated notes, subtly framed by French oak. On the palate it is velvety and long, offering a refined expression shaped by extended oak aging followed by time in bottle before release.
