Bodegas La Cigarrera was founded in 1758 in Sanlucar de Barrameda by the Barcelona businessman Josep Colom Darbo, and has been run by the Hidalgo Garcia de Velasco family since Manuel Hidalgo Colom acquired it in 1891. For decades the bodega operated as an almacenista, supplying wine to larger shipping houses, before beginning to bottle under its own name in 1997. The winery is set across three historic naves around an Andalusian courtyard, and this Manzanilla is made entirely from Palomino Fino under the Jerez-Xeres-Sherry and Manzanilla de Sanlucar de Barrameda designations.
