Profile & Story

4 Monos Viticultores was founded in 2009 by four Madrid-based friends who met hiking in the Sierra de Gredos, with a focus on organic farming, minimal cellar intervention and terroir expression. This village-level red (GR-10 Tinto) is sourced from Cadalso de los Vidrios, San Martin de Valdeiglesias and Cenicientos, a Garnacha-led blend with Carinena and Syrah from old bush vines (Garnacha up to 100 years old) on sandy granitic soils at 700-830m. Fermentation is half whole-cluster and half destemmed, aged nine months in neutral barrels of various sizes before release.
