Profile & Story

Cantina Mesa was founded in 2004 in the Sulcis, the sun-baked, sea-swept southwestern tip of Sardinia, the vision of advertising executive Gavino Sanna (the estate is now part of the Santa Margherita group). Primo Scuro is their entry-level Cannonau di Sardegna, 100% Cannonau (Sardinia's clone of Grenache) grown close to the coast.

Tasting Notes

Rich, red-fruited (berries), with floral notes of violet, a well-balanced structure and soft tannins.
