Profile & Story
Domaine Pierre Riffault is a family winegrowing estate in Verdigny, in the heart of the Sancerrois, at the locality of Chaudoux. Founded by Pierre Riffault and now run by Bertrand Riffault, the domaine farms eleven hectares across some twenty parcels within the Sancerre appellation, mostly Sauvignon Blanc. This Sancerre Blanc draws on the estate's clay-limestone terroirs, flint "silex" and stony "caillottes" soils, vinified entirely in stainless steel and aged on its lees for six months before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Bright and mineral, with an intense nose of citrus and white-fruit aromas. The palate opens with fresh exotic fruit and carries through to a finish of orange peel and dried fruit.
Pairing Recommendation
Recommended as an aperitif, or with fish, shellfish, white meats, and cheeses such as Crottin de Chavignol.
