La Staffa is a small organic estate in Staffolo, in the hills of the Castelli di Jesi DOC, run by Riccardo Baldi. The vineyards sit higher than the appellation average, on fossil-rich limestone-clay soils that lend the wines their distinctive mineral edge; the Verdicchio is fermented and aged in a mix of acacia and cement.
Tasting Notes
Straw-yellow with green highlights, showing citrus, almond blossom and a saline, mineral core typical of Castelli di Jesi Verdicchio, with bright acidity and good textural depth.
