Profile & Story
Movia has farmed the Brda hills of Slovenia since 1820, and under winemaker Aleš Kristančič the estate became one of the pioneers that put Slovenian wine on the world map, working organically and biodynamically from the village of Ceglo. This Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) is produced from 100% Ribolla sourced from the Vinia Morus vineyard in Plešivo and the Vinia Movia vineyard in Ceglo, both on Ponca soil, with whole-cluster pressing and eight months of aging split between wood and steel.
Tasting Notes
A brilliant straw yellow with a golden hue and dense texture. Floral notes of yellow apple, peach and yellow plum meet orange peel, lemon, carambola, almond blossom and yellow rose, with gentle vanilla, anise and rosemary. The palate is intense and medium-bodied, balancing softness with freshness and minerality for a long, vivacious finish.
Pairing Recommendation
Pairs well with fatty and white fish preparations, such as a salmon fillet with an orange, fennel and toasted-nut salad.
