Perrygulch is the most dramatically sloped block of Long Meadow Ranch's Anderson Valley Estate, with the highest clay content and lowest pH of the property's soils — conditions the estate says produce powerful, concentrated, structured wines. Producer's growing-season note (2021 vintage): an extreme, low-yielding drought vintage with mild spring and summer conditions let the fruit ripen slowly, concentrating aroma and flavor while keeping acidity high.
Tasting Notes
“The color is a medium intensity pure ruby red. The nose is intense and earthy, blending minerality, black fruit, and intense rose petal aromas, reminiscent of the blackberries growing on the property. The palate is dense, rich and smooth, with great scale from top to bottom and a terrific length, an intricate mesh of earthy, spicy flavors that open to darker fruit and a bright rose finish that lingers.” – Stéphane Vivier
