The Pinole bottling comes from a block with morning light exposure and greater vigor on volcanic and iron-loam soils within the Anderson Valley Estate. Aged 21 months in 31% new French oak with 15% whole-cluster inclusion, drawing on Pinot Noir clones 828, 777 and Calera. Producer's growing-season note (2021 vintage): an extreme, low-yielding drought vintage with mild spring and summer conditions let the fruit ripen slowly, concentrating aroma and flavor while keeping acidity high.

“Medium-deep ruby in color. A lovely nose – very charming, classy and distinguished, with pennyroyal flower, fresh forest strawberry and violet flowers. The wine is dense, elegant and racy on the palate, with textural refinement, silky mouthfeel and an everlasting finish. The return of strawberry and violet flavors with note of vanilla add to its complexity.” – Stéphane Vivier
