Rare Wine Co., D'Oliveira's American importer, notes that the house has held on to many of its most famous vintages, building an irreplaceable stock of old wines whose intense, cask-aged character shows why Madeira was once so prized by earlier generations. This Boal (Bual) was matured in cask for decades before being bottled as a vintage-dated 1908, among the oldest Buals in D'Oliveira's library.
