Familia Torres has spent more than four decades searching Catalonia's oldest vineyards for grape varieties that survived the phylloxera epidemic of the late nineteenth century, a project begun by Miguel A. Torres in the early 1980s and now carried on by the fifth generation. Of more than fifty recovered varieties, Forcada is the only white grape among the six selected for production — a very aromatic variety with marked acidity that ripens late and shows real resilience to heat and drought. This single-varietal bottling comes from two high-altitude plots in the Alts d'Ancosa subzone of DO Penedès: Mas Palau, at 550 meters in Santa Maria de Miralles, and Les Escostes, an old dry-stone-walled terraced vineyard in La Llacuna reaching 700 meters, replanted in 2020.
