Ficomontanino Noble Kara Rosso di Toscana 2024

Ficomontanino, meaning 'little fig mountain,' is a small, traditional estate near Chiusi in the southernmost part of Tuscany, close enough to the borders of Umbria and Lazio that the property draws on all three regions' character. Noble Kara — named after one of proprietor Maria Sole's grandfather's favorite horses — is made from pure Sangiovese sourced from three parcels on the property: Ficomontanino, Melogranino and Campo Cavalli. The grapes macerate on their skins for twenty-four hours before pressing, then ferment in stainless steel with native yeasts and no temperature control; the wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with minimal sulfur.
