Profile & Story

Cantine Miali is a family winery founded in 1886 in Martina Franca, in Puglia's Valle d'Itria. "The Orange Fox" is a skin-contact expression of Verdeca, a native high-acid white grape, hand-harvested and macerated on its skins for 8-10 days using a wild-yeast pied de cuve before gentle pressing into stone tanks, then aged 4-5 months.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant coppery-amber in the glass, with expressive, savory aromas of bitter orange peel, dried apricot and kumquat layered with Mediterranean herbs, thyme and dried flowers; the palate balances phenolic grip with racy acidity, fine tannins, and flavors of sour green apple and salted citrus.
