Profile & Story
The Colosi family produces wine from the Aeolian island of Salina, off Sicily, with a philosophy of certified organic viticulture that respects the local ecosystem. This organic Nero d'Avola is made from 100 percent Nero d'Avola grown on calcareous soil at Mazara del Vallo, from Guyot-trained vines at 350 to 450 meters.
Tasting Notes
Ruby in color and very fruit-forward, with notes of red berries that are fragrant, mineral and spicy; the palate balances tannins and acidity and is intense, persistent and fine.
Pairing Recommendation
At 13 percent alcohol, serve at 10-12 C; it pairs well with cheese and both red and white meat dishes.
