Veuve Clicquot is one of Champagne's historic houses, renowned for the structure and richness of its wines. Yellow Label is the House's signature champagne, balancing the four dimensions that define the Veuve Clicquot style: freshness, strength, aromatic richness and silkiness. The blend is led by Pinot Noir (about 50 percent), which provides its structure, with Meunier (20 percent) rounding it out and Chardonnay (30 percent) adding elegance and finesse; up to 45 percent reserve wines are used to maintain the cuvee's consistent style.
Tasting Notes
Brilliant golden yellow with a fine, persistent effervescence. The aromatic profile is dominated by white and yellow fruits such as pear, apple and peach, with hints of citrus like mandarin and grapefruit blending harmoniously with gourmand notes of brioche. Structured by Pinot Noir, it offers flavors of pear, peach and pastry, enhanced by a touch of dried fruit from ageing on the lees. Brut, 9 g/L dosage.
Pairing Recommendation
Serve at 8-10 C. It pairs beautifully with dishes such as a radish and shrimp salad with grapefruit or a lightly stir-fried vegetable wok, and reveals its balance alongside a burger of grilled meat, caramelized onions and melting cheddar.
