Profile & Story

Chateau de Miniere sits in the heart of the Bourgueil appellation between Tours and Saumur; its 29 hectares are dedicated entirely to Cabernet Franc, the signature grape of the region, on vines averaging over 50 years old (some over a century) planted at high density (4,500-5,000 vines/ha). The estate is certified organic and has been run since 2010 by Kathleen Van den Berghe and Sigurd Mareels. 'Equilibre' (part of the 'Ceci n'est pas que...' range) is vinified partly in stainless steel for freshness and partly in large oak casks for roundness and depth.
