Vignobles Gunther-Chereau is a family estate at the confluence of the Sevre and Maine rivers, run by mother-and-daughter team Veronique and Aurore Gunther-Chereau. Veronique joined the domaine in 1989 following her father, dedicated to showcasing the aging potential of terroir-driven Muscadet; Aurore, an oenologist, joined in 2011 and has converted part of the estate to certified organic viticulture. The family holdings include the Chateau du Coing, Chateau de la Gravelle, and Grand Fief de la Cormeraie, farmed on gneiss, gabbro and micaschist soils and planted mainly to Melon de Bourgogne (and small amounts of the local Folle Blanche). 'Domaine de la Bournaire' is a single-vineyard, old-vines ('Vieilles Vignes') Muscadet Sevre-et-Maine bottling from a parcel in Monnieres; it is not currently featured among the cuvees listed on the estate's own website, suggesting it may be an export-market or legacy bottling.
