Domaine Barge has been established in Ampuis, in the northern Rhone, since 1860, historically best known for old-school, long-lived Cote-Rotie; Julien Barge took over the family's 6 hectares of vines in 2019. The bottle photo sourced for this listing is labeled 'Les Coteaux de Legende' (bottled by EURL Les Coteaux de Legende, Ampuis) -- Domaine Barge's other Cotes-du-Rhone bottling, a 100% Syrah from a single, organically-farmed hectare, fermented in concrete tanks with whole-cluster fermentation in the same style as the estate's Cote-Rotie and Saint-Joseph.
