Parador Cellars was founded in Napa Valley in the late 1990s by Faith Henschel-Ventrello and Steve Ventrello -- the same ownership team behind Folklore -- inspired by their travels to Ribera del Duero and Rioja, with the goal of bringing Tempranillo to Napa Valley. Steve imported Tempranillo budwood from Spain and worked with Rancho Chimiles Vineyard to cultivate it; Parador remains the only Napa Valley producer still making Tempranillo the focal point of its production.
