Cameron Winery farms its Dundee Hills, Oregon vineyards without irrigation, relying on dry farming and natural rainfall. The 'Supernatural' Rouge de Pinot Gris is an homage to the skin-contact winemaking of Slovenia's Sasa Radikon and the skin-fermented Pinot Grigio tradition of Friuli: old-vine Pinot Gris from the upper Road Block at Abbey Ridge is destemmed and macerated for 45 days in clay amphorae, then aged 18 months in neutral French oak before bottling.
Tasting Notes
The wine shows aromas of strawberries and their stems, clay dust, forest floor, and white cedar, with light tannins and bright red fruit that moves quickly across the palate - a wine that sits between a deep skin-contact white and a featherweight red.
