Profile & Story
Nami is Mexico's first sake brand, founded in 2016 and brewed at the Sakecul microbrewery in Culiacan, Sinaloa; its name means 'wave' in Japanese, reflecting the project's blend of Japanese sake-making tradition with a Mexican spirit. The brewery's traditional techniques were taught by Munetaka Nakashima, of the Nakashima Sake Brewery, a family brewery in Japan with over 300 years of history. Nami produces Junmai, Junmai Ginjo, and Junmai Daiginjo styles, brewed from just four ingredients - water, rice, koji, and yeast.
Tasting Notes
Nami's Junmai Ginjo is a semi-dry sake with tropical fruit character, a creamy texture, and a balanced finish, showing notes of plum, peach, and pineapple alongside subtle yeast and rice tones.
Pairing Recommendation
Ideal with aged cheeses, smoked fish, and fried or grilled dishes.
