Ca' Lojera - the house of the wolves, named for hiding places once guarded by them - was founded at Sirmione on Lake Garda in 1992 by Ambra and Franco Tiraboschi, who press only fruit from their own 14 hectares. 'Monte della Guardia' is the estate's small-production line of Garda DOC wines from old vines. The Chardonnay is 100% Chardonnay, harvested in the first week of September, softly pressed and fermented in steel for 10-15 days at a controlled 15-18 C, then racked by sedimentation and aged one year in steel (60%) and barrique (40%), followed by six months in bottle. 13% alcohol.
Tasting Notes
Ca' Lojera describes a brilliant, golden straw-yellow wine; the nose opens with hawthorn and cherry blossom into green apple and apricot with delicate hints of dried fruit, hazelnut and almond. The palate is full and balanced, with citrus sensations counterbalancing the sweeter notes of the grape and a long, harmonious, elegant finish.

Ca' Lojera suggests shellfish, seafood or dishes from oriental cuisine, served at 8-10 C.
