Profile & Story

Cantina Marangona lies in the middle of the Lugana zone on the southern shore of Lake Garda, at Pozzolengo, 8-15 km from Peschiera and Sirmione. The first Marangona wines were made in 1973 from the indigenous Turbiana, and the family winery has been run by Laura and Alessandro Cutolo since 2007, with production certified 100% organic. The estate describes this bottling as the personification of its lands and its most representative wine: fruit from the various parcels is vinified separately, then blended. Vines average 25 years on calcareous-clay soil; fermentation and ageing are in steel.

Tasting Notes

No published producer tasting note was found for this wine. Typicity note (archetype, not a producer note): Lugana from Turbiana grown on Garda's clay-limestone soils is characteristically a medium-bodied dry white with citrus and white orchard fruit, an almond edge and a saline, gently bitter finish.
