Andrea Felici is a 15-hectare Verdicchio estate in the Marche run by Leopardo Felici, who took over the family property in 2007 after working as a sommelier in London (The Savoy, under Gordon Ramsay) and at Enoteca Pinchiorri in Florence. This Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore is 100% Verdicchio from vines 10 to 40 years old, planted between 500 and 600 meters in the hilly country between Apiro and Cupramontana -- the estate's highest site, at 600m, is the tallest in the appellation. Grapes are hand-harvested and pressed within hours, fermented at controlled temperature without oxygen exposure, then aged in cement tanks on the lees for six to twelve months across six staggered bottlings.
