Fattoria di Gratena has farmed organically since its founding in 1994, tending 18 hectares of vineyard and 1,600 olive trees on the slopes of Pratomagno near Cortona, in the Arezzo area of Tuscany. This Chianti DOCG is made from 100% Sangiovese grown on calcareous clay soils, hand-harvested and fermented naturally with indigenous yeasts in outdoor stainless steel tanks, then aged nine months in a mix of new and old tonneaux without added sulfites.
Tasting Notes
A pure expression of Sangiovese, with the bright red-fruit character and firm structure that natural fermentation and minimal intervention preserve.
