Iuli Slarina 'Larina'

From the same Monferrato estate as Iuli's Natalin, 'La Rina' is made from Slarina, an indigenous Piedmontese red variety that had nearly disappeared before Fabrizio Iuli planted roughly a hectare and a half of it in 2013 -- enough, he jokes, to make him the most important producer of Slarina in the world. Like the rest of the estate's wines, it is farmed organically with biodynamic principles and made with native yeasts, unfined and unfiltered.
